THE ELECTRIC PICNIC WITH HOST SUSAN TAYLOR Sat 7-8pm
Susan is in conversation with singer-songwriter SHARON KATZ
THE TOPIC IS PEACE
South African-born Sharon Katz used her music to help Nelson Mandela end Apartheid by forming the country’s first 500-voice, mixed race performing group and touring aboard The Peace Train. Sharon has continued spreading a musical message of social justice worldwide through performances and numerous recordings on the Grammy first-round ballots and was featured on Sting’s Carnival! album with Elton John, Tina Turner, Annie Lennox, Ruben Blades, and Pavarotti.

An award-winning documentary about her work, When Voices Meet, has been shown in over 50 countries. Sharon continues her humanitarian work in under-developed areas of South Africa and Latin America, including communities affected by poverty, violence, inequities, and trafficking.
