. Brendan earned his MFA in creative writing from San Diego State University in 2007 and has subsequently taught creative writing at San Diego colleges. He is also a stand-up comedian, photographer, and musician. . He has published over 40 poems, short stories, and photographs and has won awards in all three genres. In addition, he received second place in a first-chapters competition in the Seven Hills Review Chapter Competition in 2019. He won first place in The Rilla Askew Short Fiction Contest in 2020. He was a Pushcart Nominee for poetry in 2023.

DR. ANGÉLICA M. YAÑEZ
Dr. Yañez is a professor, poet, and dedicated advocate for Indigenous wisdom and cultural education. She holds a doctoral degree in Ethnic Studies from UC San Diego and is an advisor to several student groups such as M.E.Ch.A and a spoken word and writing group on her college campus. A traditional Aztec Dancer, she honors the legacies of her Indigenous ancestors through dance and ceremony, bridging educational and cultural spaces with her work.

As the founder of The Ancestral Teachings Institute, a digital platform for cultural education and Indigenous wisdom, Angélica is deeply committed to preserving and sharing ancestral knowledge.
