“Customed Taylored” with Tim Taylor

CUSTOM TAYLORED MUSIC Sunday 11am-Noon

For a respite from today’s news, Tim has us enjoying classics in pop music that turned the world around and made an impact that continues to influence music.

Today, episode 62 is part of a subseries on the music that paved the way for post war urban blues. Tim spins some piano blues, some country blues, some jazz, and some classic female blues. All of the songs featured in the episode were first recorded between 1932 and 34. You’ll hear legends CAB CALLOWAY, ROOSEVELT SYKES, BESSIE SMITH, FATS WALLER and much more.

Today Tim Taylor features the fourth installment of a chronological series on the history of urban blues music. It will include country blues, classic female blues, and jazz. The line up includes music greats Cab Calloway, Ethel Waters, Louis Armstrong and more. All of the songs were recorded in 1930 or 31.

His series spans chronologically from the 1920s to the 1950s, with each week focused on a particular genre and era. .

3-4PM – SOLITUDE CITY JAZZ ON THE RADIO with CARSON YOUNG playing cuts from classic and contemporary artists who have contributed to, and expanded the form.
