– Stephanie Maccec: Graduate University. She started teaching 31 years ago as an English and Spanish teacher in Los Angeles. She then worked in online education from its inception, and wrote for Teacher Created Materials until she took a teaching position with Grossmont Union High School District as an English Teacher. She served as department chair, WASC Coordinator, OER Coordinator, UDL Trainer, and Mentor Teacher. She taught AP Literature, Film as Lit, ERWC, and AVID until she became a Teacher Librarian. She has long been an advocate for teachers as a Site Representative for Grossmont Education Association and was recently elected Vice President. She is currently serving as the chair of both the Organizing and Communications Committee to promote better learning and teaching conditions for students and educators. She’s recently contributed as an author to Radical School Librarianship: A Global Response. She is currently pursuing an MS in Reading and Literacy at CSUF and teaching ELD and dELD at Valhalla High School.

– Jackie Naah: has dedicated more than 24 years to education as a teacher in the Grossmont Union High School District, serving at both Mount Miguel High School and Valhalla High School. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Sociology from San Diego State University and a master’s degree in Education with an emphasis in Cross-Cultural Language and Academic Development. Throughout her career, Jackie has taught a wide range of social science courses, including United States History, Child Developmental Psychology, AP Government, Pre-AP World History, and Life Management Skills. Beyond the classroom, she has been a strong advocate for educators, serving as a site representative for the Grossmont Education Association. She was recently elected as an at-large member of the GEA Executive Board and currently serves as Chair of the Political Action Committee, where she continues her commitment to supporting teachers and advancing public education.
